The College of Social Work seeks a Student Affairs Officer position reporting to the Associate Dean for Student & Academic Affairs. This position will provide academic support to the College of Social Work faculty and students within the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs as well as coordinate the completion of College reports. The primary responsibilities of this position include the following: facilitate class scheduling, textbook ordering, syllabi collection, grading, and teacher/course evaluations; troubleshoot student issues and concerns related to classes and registration issues; work closely with the Graduate School, Student Billing, Undergraduate school and other University entities on behalf of student needs and concerns; oversee student folder management for undergraduate and graduate student records, including creation and correct document storage with adherence to University record retention schedule; conduct degree audits; process major changes and full major applications; maintain accurate and complete student records and maintain confidential student information as required by FERPA ; coordinate and submit the completion of College reports such as the CSWE Annual Report, Annual Progress Report, and Strategic Plan; manage Campus Management (Student Life Cycle) SAP activities and projects within the College; conduct analytic reports on market trends for the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programs and other duties as assigned.
Skills / Knowledge / Abilities
The ideal candidate will have the understanding of curriculum offerings and University and College requirements for degrees as well as knowledge of the social work profession. In addition, the following skills are required: time management, professionalism, confidentiality, detail oriented, excellent communication (oral and written), team player and ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Preferred Education / Experience
Master’s degree is preferred as well as one year of experience in academic administration and/or student records.
