Description :

Reporting to the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs, this position will be required to develop, implement, and evaluate strategies to enhance the number, quality, and success of students in all programs in the College of Engineering (CoE). Provides leadership and supervises approximately 12 staff associated with student programs including recruitment, retention, scholarships , awards, advising, career planning, placement, internships and coops, student research, study abroad, outreach, alumni relations, and others as needed. Position develops, implements, and assesses protocols to award more than $600,000 in student scholarships; coordinate efforts with the Associate Deans in Lincoln and Omaha and ensures that college wide strategies for student recruitment and success are deployed across the breadth of programs in the CoE. Engages with the broader university community to represent the CoE on key working groups and committees and to develop strategic partnerships. Responsible for providing professional development, mentoring, and leadership to professional staff. Provides coordination across the CoE campuses in Lincoln and Omaha and between UNL and UNO admissions. Deploys data-driven decision making.
Minimum Required Qualifications Master’s degree in Educational Administration, Student Affairs, Human Resources, or related field including extensive knowledge of student services and five years professional experience in leading people, program and project management, strategic planning and implementation, data driven decision making and analysis, and budgeting and budget management required. Equivalent experience and education in a STEM discipline or field will be considered. Excellent communication and leadership skills essential. Wide-ranging administrative knowledge regarding organizations and programming necessary. Academic advising and/or counseling, student development, career advising, and program evaluation required.
Preferred Qualifications PhD in Student Affairs, Educational Administration or related field preferred. Ability to provide administrative and fiscal leadership on behalf of the Associate Dean by promoting college-wide academic programs, and ensuring that various functions and tasks necessary for effective planning and daily administration of college policies and programs are present is desirable.
