Description :

The University of North Carolina at Charlotte seeks an Assistant Director for Supplemental
Instruction (SI) in the University Center for Academic Excellence. This full-time, 12-month
position will provide leadership to all aspects of an expanding SI program designed to help
students successfully complete historically challenging courses. The Assistant Director will
work collaboratively with faculty and retention related services on the development of SI and
academic services that meet the needs of a diverse student population. The Assistant Director
is a vital team member responsible for hiring, training, and supervising graduate assistants and
undergraduate SI leaders. The Assistant Director will contribute positively to ongoing campus
initiatives in support of student success and will collaborate to maintain and expand programs.

Minimum qualifications:
• Master’s degree in education, counseling or related discipline required.
• SI Training Certification from the International Center for Supplemental Instruction
required.
• One year of experience in a Supplemental Instruction Program or equivalent higher
education student academic support program.
• Strong administrative and interpersonal skills essential.
• Experience with Banner preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and databases preferred.
