Description of Work The Assistant Director for Student Organization will have responsibility for ensuring the delivery of programs for recognized student organizations (RSOs) including, but not limited to, event planning and registration, annual review forms, brief orientations, Pepsi student experience fund requests, and staffing the consultation desk. He/she supervises graduate and undergraduate students and works as a team to provide leadership trainings for RSOs. He/she is a member of the Student Involvement Leadership Team, assists in the development and execution of the Student Involvement strategic plan and conducts assessment related to RSO programs and services. In addition, the position will be responsible for working with others to offer an array of programs and activities for the student body.
Minimum Required Qualifications Master’s degree plus 2 years full-time or graduate assistant experience in higher education required. Experience in program development essential. Must have excellent written and oral communications skills. Effective leadership skills necessary. Effective decision-making skills required.
Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in student personnel, higher education, educational psychology, community development, educational administration, counseling, or related field preferred. Additional experience preferred include gender-related issues, LGBTQ issues, and leadership development. Experience with student organization database software desirable. Supervisory experience helpful.
