Christopher Newport University invites applications for the position of Assistant Director of Student Activities (ADSA) for Greek Life. Reporting to the Director of Student Activities, the successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining a vibrant Greek community on the CNU campus. The successful candidate will assume the leadership for the undergraduate experience of students involved with fraternities and sororities; help establish and implement policies and standards in areas of academic, personal, social, and residential living as they specifically relate to Greek students; and help develop and direct the philosophical and
practical vision of campus activity programming to meet the departmental and University goal of facilitating student success for all undergraduates.

A Master’s degree in Higher Education, Student Personnel Administration or a related field; or a Bachelor’s degree and significant campus or community programming experience that equates to an advanced degree is required. The successful candidate must have significant campus involvement and programming experience; demonstrated experience in developing and implementing educational initiatives; knowledge of student development theories; strong organizational and administrative skills; strong interpersonal communication skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills; computer proficiency in Microsoft Applications and e-mail applications; ability to
work independently with minimal supervision; and ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and flexible work hours. Preference will be given to candidates with direct experience working with Greek communities and constituents; direct experience working with clubs and organizations on a college/university campus; experience providing leadership development programs; demonstrated experience in advising students; previous experience negotiating contracts, managing budgets, and collaborating with various constituents; and direct experience developing, implementing, and evaluating assessment measures.
