The Assistant Director for Disabled Student Support Services is responsible for overall management of accommodations and services for students with disabilities at Kennesaw State University. The Assistant Director conducts intake interviews with incoming students with disabilities; evaluates documentation and determines appropriate accommodations in consultation with the Regents Center for Learning Disorders; coordinates with faculty to assure that accommodations are arranged; coordinates the provision of accommodations such as sign language interpreters, captionists, alternate format material, readers, note takers, assistive technology, and special equipment; supervises the administration of out-of-class testing with accommodations; provides academic advisement; maintains student service files, including documentation and record of services provided; prepares required reports and summaries of unit functions; supervises the planning and presentation of campus-wide awareness programming through the student organization; plans and presents workshops for the faculty/staff/students/community groups; and completes other duties as required to assure that Kennesaw State university is on compliance with Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities ACT of 1990.

Depending on qualifications, position to pay within $40,000 to $42,000 per year.

Master’s degree in rehabilitation counseling, counseling, or student personnel service preferred
Extensive knowledge of ADA requirements in a University setting.
