TITLE/RANK Academic Advisor / U24

DESCRIPTION Under the leadership of the Associate Director, the Academic Advisor will advise a caseload of students and coordinate a variety of activities to promote the success and retention of first-year, freshman, and sophomore students at Montclair State University. The Academic Advisor will also teach a section of New Student Seminar each academic year, participate in New Student, Transfer, and Family Orientation programs. Additionally, the Academic Advisor will participate in assessment activities and in the development of benchmarks and outcomes.
QUALIFICATIONS Master’s degree required, preferably in Student Affairs or Higher Education, and a minimum of two years full-time professional experience working in a college or university setting. Preference will be given to candidates with documented experience working with first-year and/or sophomore year programs. Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Ability to work with a team of diverse professional staff and student is essential.
SALARY RANGE starting at $58,018
